Founded with humble beginnings in 1981 by John Williams, Frog’s Leap W**ery has since
grown into a family-owned Napa Valley w**ery known for its commitment to organic and sustainable, dry-farmed viticulture. Williams, who originally worked for Stag’s Leap, co-founded the w**ery with a vision to produce balanced w**es with utmost respect to the land, a
philosophy that led to their achievement of the first certified organic vineyard in California. Today, John’s son, Rory, is still dedicated to this traditional, organic approach, creating a range of w**es from their Rutherford home while maintaining an emphasis on hospitality.

Rootstock is ringing in 2025 with our newest partnership announcement, Frog’s Leap W**ery. We are honored to be entrusted to represent this benchmark, family-owned and operated w**ery in the state of Texas.

Founded in 1981 by John Williams and Larry Turley with an inaugural release of Sauvignon Blanc from vines planted at Larry’s Frog Farm. John had already cut his w**emaking teeth at Stag’s Leap W**e Cellars, as their sole employee when their Cabernet Sauvignon won the 1975 Paris Tasting. As a nod to the farm name and John’s time at Stag’s Leap, Frog’s Leap was born.

Eventually striking out on his own, John relocated Frog’s Leap to an existing vineyard on the Rutherford Bench with the now-iconic old Red Barn. Through the w**ery’s growth and acquisitions, they remained committed to organic practices, dry-farming, polyculture, and employee stewardship. In 1989, Frog’s Leap became the first California Certified Organic Farm in Napa Valley.
