Recovery Outside
Mission: Recovery Outside offers outdoor experiences that build community, promote healing, and support long-term recovery.
🏆 We’re honored to be recognized as a winner in Austin Chronicle’s Best of Austin 2026!
What started as a simple idea—to create more opportunities for connection, adventure, and recovery outdoors—has grown into an incredible community of people showing up for themselves and each other.
A huge thank you to everyone who hikes, climbs, paddles, camps, volunteers, and shares this journey with us. This recognition belongs to all of you. 💙
And seeing comments like, “This group and the founders have kept me sober for six years. Changed my life.” reminds us exactly why this work matters.
Thank you, Austin, for your support. We’re just getting started. 🙌
🛟☀️ Sober Tubin’ on the river = an absolute blast.
Good weather, cold water, plenty of laughs, and a great crew to share it with. We spent the day floating, hanging out, and enjoying one of the best summer traditions Texas has to offer.
Thanks to everyone who came out—we’ll definitely be doing this again. 🤙
Our Wichita Mountains campout was everything Recovery Outside is about. ❤️
Over the course of the weekend, we climbed rock, paddled across beautiful water, hiked challenging trails, watched bison, elk, geese, and other wildlife roam the refuge, and gathered around a campfire for a gratitude circle under the stars.
From sending routes like Crazy Alice to pushing through tough hikes, we challenged ourselves physically while finding space to slow down, connect, and reflect.
But the best part wasn’t the climbing or the views—it was the people. The conversations around camp, the shared laughter, the encouragement on the trail, and the meaningful connections that happen when we step outside together.
This was our final campout of the season, and it was a reminder of why we do this: recovery isn’t just about what we’re leaving behind. It’s about what we’re building together.
We’re grateful for every person who joined us and can’t wait to get back out there this fall. 🏕️✨

Beach Day has officially been moved to July 11 ☀️🏖️
We’re still heading out to Inks Lake State Park for a day of paddle boarding, swimming, sunshine, and community — just on a new date! We wanted to make the change early so everyone has time to adjust plans.
If you were already planning to come, we hope you can still make it 💛
And if you haven’t signed up yet, there’s still time to join us.
See y’all on the water 🌊

A little competition, a lot of laughs, and even more connection 🏅💛
We had such a fun time teaming up with for Mini Olympics! From friendly competition to cheering each other on, days like these are a reminder that recovery and community can also look like joy, play, and just showing up together.
Grateful for everyone who came out and brought the energy 🙌
