If you meet Momo, prepare to be chosen.

The first time Momo met her current fosters, she climbed right into their laps for cuddles. By the end of the visit, she didn’t want to leave. That’s Momo: she meets you and decides you’re the most important person in her world.

Momo is a 49-pound sweetheart who is almost two years old. She loves her daily walks, and she recently rode shotgun with her foster all the way to Colorado. She was a wonderful road trip companion and hiking buddy, politely passing other dogs on the trail.

She’s just as happy settling beside you while you work. Quality time with her person, no matter what you’re doing, is what matters most to Momo.

She is house-trained, knows “sit,” and will go into her crate on her own. Momo has enjoyed living with other dogs, but her current foster home has shown us that she shines just as bright as an only dog who gets all the attention to herself.

Momo has been with New Hope since March 2025. She was rescued on the day she was going to be euthanized for space and for having mange. She has had an amazing "glow up" up in our care and we shows us day after day what an amazing dog she is.

Please don’t judge a dog by how long they’ve been in rescue. Housing restrictions, rising housing costs, and the rising costs of caring for a dog have made it much harder for medium and large dogs to find homes. A long wait doesn’t mean there’s something wrong with them - it just means there are less people who are able to adopt medium to large dogs.

Dolly broke the internet.

This4 lb Yorkie received more than 40 applications, with inquiries from Israel, Germany, Holland and South Africa. As an all-breed, mixed breed rescue, this is not something we are use to!

With so many loving homes before us, this was an extraordinarily difficult decision. Not being selected does not mean you do not have a wonderful home to offer. She just had a lot of amazing options. We hope you will keep following New Hope and reach out if another pup captures your heart.

After all the neglect, breeding and cruelty Dolly endured, we wanted an extraordinary life for Dolly and we after spending time to get to know one family, we found it!

They treat their pets as family in every sense. They prepare balanced, home-cooked meals for their picky Maltese and rotate recipes every few days, an ideal match for Dolly’s refined palate. Like a tiny judge on Top Chef, he sniffs, and then nods to suggest the dish needs something more before he will dig in. Left overs? Nope. Fresh cooked daily. Their dogs enjoy daily walks, a secure yard for supervised outdoor time and full inclusion in family life and go above and beyond with vet care. When one family member needed to live abroad for several months, the pets went, too.

They also have a big heart for rescue, having fostered larger dogs for a respected local organization and adopting their fostered Shepherd. They understand the responsibility, commitment and the mission behind this work.

Most importantly, they were drawn to Dolly’s story and wanted to give her the life she deserved. They didn't see a purse-sized dog or a potentially allergy-friendly companion, but the little soul underneath it all who has suffered —and considered what they could offer her to make the rest of her life extraordinary.

We know many applicants saw that same soul. That is what made choosing only one home so difficult. But know we found Dolly an exceptional family for Dolly and so please join us in celebrating!

Someone recently asked Nala's foster mom if they could trade dogs because he had learned she gives the best kisses! No dogs were traded of course -which means you can still apply to adopt her!

Nala is a 38-pound brindle girl who can be a little shy when meeting new people, especially at the park. Give her a chance to get comfortable, though, and you’ll meet a dog who loves hugs, snuggling, and her stuffed animals. She’ll chase a toy you throw, toss it into the air herself, then bounce right on top of it.

She lives with five other dogs and has done great with them. She walks nicely on a leash, is house-trained, and has learned to use a dog door.

Nala was also fostered with a cat. Once the initial excitement wore off, she stopped chasing her and began accepting evening grooming sessions. The resident cat would quite obsessively lick Nala’s ears and cheeks, with Nala's full cooperation. Dare we say she enjoyed it?

Whiskey is waiting for his adventure buddy to apply! At about two years old and 82 pounds, he’s a sweet, athletic guy who loves people and gets along with other dogs in his foster home. He’s house trained, leaves his foster’s shoes and furniture alone, and is happy to relax after a good outing.

Whiskey would love a home where regular walks, playtime, car rides, hikes and adventures are part of the routine. He isn't looking to be someone's couch ornament He can jump a high fence, so we are now recommending homes that don't rely on dog doors.

It’s a double adoption CATURDAY at Tomlinson's Feed on South Congress!

Sweet sisters Asha and Amber are heading to their forever home together—with two sisters who are absolutely over the moon to welcome these sweet kittens into their family.

Captain Jack and Skippy Jones adopted together at PetSmart in Balcones Woods!

Captain Jack and Skippy got to leave New Hope together last brothers, but that is not how their stories began...

Captain Jack came to New Hope on July 3 at approximately four weeks old. A member of our team was at a local shelter to pick up a dog when she noticed that he and his two littermates were not thriving. Having entered the shelter at only three weeks old, they were still at an age when they needed bottle-feeding and help transitioning to eating on their own.

By the time they reached us, two were critically fragile. Despite round-the-clock feedings, fluids and supportive care for the entire litter, Captain Jack was the only one to survive, but now he was alone.

Skippy Jones entered that same shelter alone at five weeks old. And joined our rescue mid July.

Oh, this photo gives the ending all the heart it needs. You can actually see their new family, so the copy doesn’t have to strain for emotion.

Captain Jack and Skippy were initially fostered separately, but later moved into the same foster home so each could have a kitten friend. They quickly became inseparable.

Now they get to spend their lives together—and they have three human siblings to grow up with, too. We could not be happier for this entire family!

And yes: the gray kitten is visibly snuggled into one child while Skippy is being proudly held by another. It’s a genuinely wonderful adoption photo.

Update! Adopted to a great home!

Dolly entered a shelter severely matted and needed an emergency medical shave. She arrived to our care covered in fleas, full of parasites, and suffering from flaky, skin that still had flea dirt and mystery debris from being matted so long. She was under weight and her tiny body dropped from 4.7 lbs to 3.9 pounds after she was shaved. She sadly showed the unmistakable signs of having been used repeatedly for breeding, and a nonviable pregnancy was discovered just yesterday during her during her spay.

Those days are over for Dolly.

Estimated to be 3 years old, Dolly is a tiny dog with a huge personality and even bigger ears. She high-step prances everywhere she goes, struts her stuff, and knows exactly how to work a room. She is ready for a life filled with soft blankets, good food, ridiculous outfits, regular spa days, plenty of photo shoots—and, of course, people who will love her as much as she loves them.

She's 4.22 pounds of Yorkie, but not an obnoxious barker or a dog that gets under your feet. She has never met a stranger and is fearless with dogs of all sizes. If you ask whether she is ready for dinner or needs to go outside, she dances on her back legs. But Dolly’s flex? At just 4.22 pounds, she shops for harnesses in the kitten section.

At bedtime, her foster mom wraps her up like a tiny empanada with only her nose sticking out.

Dolly lives beautifully with other dogs but would be just as happy as an only pet with a devoted human. She can also live with a confident, dog-savvy cat—but she has selected Chilly, one of the resident cats, as her favorite to pursue. Chilly then chases her back, at which point Dolly screams in terror —apparently shocked by a plot twist she invites into her own life day after day after day.
