Shilo's story is one of resilience and second chances. After surviving being struck by a car and suffering traumatic head injuries, she underwent surgeries to remove an eye and stabilize her broken jaw. She has relearned to eat and is thriving in foster care. Today, she's thriving and searching for the person who will see not what she's lost, but everything she still has to give.

A few weeks ago, we weren't sure what Nova's future would look like.

What was supposed to be a routine spay turned into a terrifying medical emergency, and Nova fought her way through complications that required emergency surgery, hospitalization, and weeks of careful recovery. There were moments when we held our breath and hoped for the best.

Today, we're thrilled to say that Nova is feeling like herself again—and she's officially available for meet and greets! ❤️

At just 21.5 pounds, Nova may be itty-bitty, but she's powerful like a bull. She's funny, affectionate, smart, and just the right amount of dramatic. She catches on quickly to routines, loves being pampered, and fully embraces the finer things in life.

✨ Brushing sessions? Yes, please.
✨ Paw wipes after outside time? She'll report to her pillow for spa treatment.
✨ Treats, toys, and affection? Nova approves of all of the above.
✨ Snuggling up for a nap after a busy day? One of her specialties.
Nova also has opinions. She thinks "Nova Time" should never end, she believes leash walks should happen on her terms, and she approaches life with the confidence of a dog three times her size.

Most importantly, Nova has so much love to give.

Let's find this tiny bull of a Frenchie the happily-ever-after she deserves. ❤️🐾

Gussy entered a shelter outside of Austin in August of 2011 as just a puppy. Sadly, he would re-enter that same shelter in May of 2026, still microchipped to a previous adopter. At 15 years old, no one came for him.

Thankfully, our longtime fosters, Rosemary and Mick, stepped up for Gussy and welcomed him into their home. We were preparing ourselves for what often happens with senior dogs—that they are overlooked for months, sometimes even longer.

But then the City of Chicago sent us an angel.

Ericka had moved to Texas a week ago and made it her mission to add a senior fur brother to her family of two senior girls. It didn't surprise us to learn that she had been active in rescue back in the Windy City.

While some people won't drive 30 minutes to meet a puppy, Ericka drove eight hours round trip today to bring little Gussy home. And they are en route now back to his next chapter.

During his recent dental procedure, our veterinarians discovered just how much discomfort this little guy had been living with. Years of severe dental disease had destroyed the bone supporting his teeth. Every remaining tooth had to be removed, and the infection had even caused a fracture in his lower jaw.

And none of it scared Ericka away.

If anything, it made her even more determined to come get him today.

We need more Erickas in this world. And we need more Rosemarys and Micks, who open their homes to the seniors everyone else passes by.

Tonight, Gussy will be exactly where he belongs—safe, loved, and in his new home.

From the first day we met her and all through her recovery, she has shown us she is a resilient little fighter, brave, funny and full of affection and she is a happy, chatty girl who is searching for a family who lets her be apart of their every day activities.

Today is Milo Monday because Milo has officially gone to his forever home!

This adorable little guy stole hearts everywhere he went, and now he has a family of his very own to love him for the rest of his life. We are so grateful to his adopters for opening their home and their hearts to him.

Happy tails, sweet Milo! We can't wait to hear about all of your adventures, cozy naps, and the wonderful life ahead of you. Thank you to everyone who shared his posts, cheered him on, and helped him find his perfect match.

Sweet Ron was adopted! This little guy is still recovering from his second urethral prolapse repair but his mom is fully committed to staying on top of his recovery to keep him healthy, safe and happy!
