We’ll be at the Austin Young Chamber’s 2026 Give Back & Get Loud event, presented by H-E-B, on September 15 from 6:30–8:30 PM at KMFA Studios!
SAFE will join local nonprofits from across Austin for an evening celebrating the organizations and people working to make our community stronger. ❤️
Stop by our table to meet members of the SAFE team, learn more about our work, and discover ways you can get involved in helping create a safer Austin for everyone.

Get your costumes ready for this year’s Truck-or-Treat!
This year kids can do some trick or treating fun while they get up close with a wide variety of vehicles🍬
And when we say wide variety, we mean it! Busses, construction vehicles, moving trucks, stunning show cars and so much more! Truck-or-Treat is guaranteed to delight your kiddos as they get up close to explore, honk horns, or even get behind the wheel for a photo!
That’s not all! Attendees can also look forward to family-friendly fall activities, including crafts, candy, and more. Truck-or-Treat truly has something for everyone!

The Good Good Golf driver advertisement and Callaway ad has sparked an important conversation of how we address domestic violence as a culture.
We all share the responsibility to create safe communities. We all have a responsibility to speak up when we see something wrong.
“The violence [in the advertisement] lasts only seconds... The scene was staged, but the institutional failure that brought it to our screens was real."
This is a reminder to any institution that credibility comes from what you approve, reward, and refuse when no one's watching.

For over two decades, Planet SAFE has provided safe exchanges for families who are court ordered to share custody of children with partners who have a history or documented incident of domestic violence or abuse.
“This to me is an extension of our justice system that we are mandated to carry out and we need to make sure it’s available in the community.” -Travis County Commissioner Ann Howard
If the 80% of funding is approved by Travis County officials, Planet SAFE can continue to provide an essential service for courts to keep families safe.
More than 426 safe and supervised visitations and exchanges to 39 families in the last year alone.

Back-to-school season at SAFE is about more than backpacks and school supplies- it’s about helping kids start the year feeling prepared, confident, and ready to thrive. 🎒✏️❤️
Thanks to our incredible community, SAFE collected 96 backpacks filled with school supplies for kids staying in our emergency shelters, receiving housing support, and accessing services across our agency.
A special shoutout to for providing free haircuts, and to Texas Capital Bank, Cloudera, and St. James Missionary Baptist Church for donating haircare products and support.
Together, we’re helping kids head back to school confident, prepared, and in style!

SAFE is growing its grants team with three open Grants Manager positions!
The SAFE Grants department is responsible for identifying funding opportunities, and for cultivating and stewarding philanthropic and governmental relationships with funders through strategic grant development, submission and reporting processes.
