Hey y’all.
We know this is a scary and chaotic time, but we will get through this. Your continued support, especially these past few weeks has meant the world to all of us.
We have always prided ourselves in being a platform and hub for up and coming artists and creators and that will not change.
With that being said, the safety and the health of our community is paramount and despite working closely with the city to make sure our most recent shows have been safe, we have made the decision to suspend business temporarily, and to reassess operations at a later date.
Thank you to all of the artists, employees and music lovers who continue to support us and the Austin music community. Feel free to reach out to us if you have any questions or concerns
Hey we feel really loved right now 🎶❤️ thank you guys, you are what makes the Austin scene so vibrant and tight knit—no other city on earth has people that love music and creating a culture of creativity as much as here 🎤💯
Thank you to our friends, customers, and the artists that have made this place so special—we love you all and are grateful for your support.
As covid-19 expands in Austin we will be monitoring the situation and may close as early as tomorrow as we follow all local ordinances related to it, but for now we are together as a community and your support has been heard and we are grateful.
Getting a lot of flack from people that don’t live here, and don’t come here about us remaining open so we want to take this time to make a public statement regarding our decision to remain open as have many other business’ in Austin.
We are following the city of Austin’s 249 persons capacity, have free hand sanitizer, plenty of soap and good music going. We will be closing immediately if the city places a ban on events and are monitoring that situation closely.
Nowhere has greed played an influence in the decision to open. Our rent doubles during the month of March because of the SXSW festival and this isn’t changing due to its cancellation. We are going to be short on rent regardless—all our service industry fam has been hit hard and we know you feel our pain. We hope that we can remain open in the coming months and continue to provide a stage for hundreds of local artists. We’ve seen a lot of talented people begin on this stage at our free open mics, and would hate to lose an independent underground venue in a city famed for its culture. No owner will be taking a cent of profit this month or even this year—it’s all going to trying to stay open in these tough times.
It hurts us to see people that have never been here leaving negative reviews because of our decision to remain open for now, but we hope you can support us as we try to create a home for local artists to come together. Haters gonna hate but we will never stop trying to provide a platform for artists and creatives of all kinds and levels of experience to showcase their work.
