The Center for Community and Public Health at Rice University's Kinder Institute for Urban Research is premiering new resources to support people with DD experiencing grief and loss at a community event from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Monday, Sept. 21, at The Health Museum in Houston. The event will feature a series of educational videos; panel discussions with people with DD, family members, researchers, and community partners; and a mosaic art activity focused on healing and connection.

This work is part of a TCDD-funded grant project to develop mental health resources for people with DD handling grief and loss.

TCDD Policy Director Scott Daigle recently joined the American Association on Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities Texas (AAIDD-TX) for their annual conference.

At the conference, Scott spoke on a panel of state leaders. The panel included representatives from The Arc of Texas, the Texas Council of Community Centers, Texas Health and Human Services, and Providers Alliance for Community Services of Texas.
