Tears flowing while I’m writing this, but I have to share the story. One of OG Bigga Rankin greatest legacies was the Duval Diamond Awards. Everyone in Duval wanted one and it gave us something to EARN. I remember feeling hungrier for one every year but proud of everyone that got one. After receiving a gold record, I was flying home and my manager Malik said we were going to the Diamond awards this year which was crazy because I didn’t think I was nominated for anything. When I get there, this man stops the show, pulls me on stage and proceeds to give me flowers I don’t think I had ever felt from my city (yall know he’s the best at this). He then hands me the largest physical Duval Diamond Award ever and on the front it said “Superstar of the Year. J. Dash”. This man created an entire category for me. Thank you Jacksonville Florida Photographer | Terrence Tyson for capturing this core memory for me. It meant everything. thank you for everything Bigga.

Rest well OG Bigga Rankin. Thank you blazing trails for us, being a consistent mentor to so many and an incredible inspiration to artists from Duval. 🕊️💐
