APA Pets Needing Foster

❤️‍🩹 Help Us Change 10 Stories by Tomorrow ❤️‍🩹

We’re looking for 10 fosters by tomorrow morning (Thursday, 3/26) to help dogs coming from a rural partner shelter.

Shelters in rural areas often have far fewer resources and staff, which means dogs may spend most of their time in their kennels with limited enrichment and very little individual attention. Many arrive to us underweight and in need of a safe place to rest, recover, and simply be seen.

Right now, we’ve been asked to take in 10 dogs. One of them, “Unnamed,” is pictured here. For the others, we have very little information yet—just a number: 10.

But what makes this community special is the way you see beyond that.

Where others see a number, you imagine a name. A personality. A future. You see the dog who will learn what a couch feels like, who will gain strength, who will one day be someone’s everything.

That kind of empathy is powerful. It’s what makes this work possible.

We’re ready to say yes to all 10 dogs—but only if we have fosters ready to welcome them.

Monty is a sweet injured 12 week-old kitten from Kerrville, TX, which is experiencing a natural disaster. He has a broken jaw, a kitty cold, and an injured leg.

With enough love, Monty can make a FULL recovery! 💖

Our team is on the ground rescuing animals in need like Monty, but we need kind humans in our community LIKE YOU to open your homes up to them as a meaningful next step.

⏰ Monty will be arriving in Austin at 2PM this afternoon, and we would love to send him straight to foster. Foster will be sent home with meds.

Look at this sweetie! This is Honey Bun she recently had a visit with one of APA's volunteers and this is how it went:
Miss Honey Bun is the sweetest most well mannered little girl ever! This morning when I walked into her kennel she was wagging her tail all excited to go out. Honey Bun has super great leash skills and responds amazingly to leash pressure. Our walks are always super easy (loose leash walks) and she loves exploring what's all around. We continued our walk and she got to explore some more. She was also pretty engaged with me throughout our walk and I rewarded her every time she checked in with me.

Another volunteer had this to say about her:
It baffles me that she is still here and not in a home. She is completely potty trained, on the smaller side, incredibly sweet and affectionate and walks perfectly on leash. She’s also a senior, so it is particularly heartbreaking! She can be a little destructive with soft toys, but if you call her out on it, she’ll try to hide her destruction, which is super cute! She loves people and would be a wonderful companion.

For the past few months, two sweet “students” have been hanging out at an elementary school in Houston, winning hearts and keeping everyone company. These friendly boys have been perfect gentlemen, causing no trouble and charming everyone they meet. But now, it’s time for them to graduate to a new home!

Perfect puppy in need of a foster home! You might have recently seen APA's social media post about the 5 sweet puppies who were brought to us when their regular caregiver needed to leave town for a family emergency. All but one of these cuties have been adopted or gone to foster! Can anyone help out Cowardly Lion and foster this sweet guy so he doesn't have to be all by his lonesome any longer? He is 3.5 months old, neutered, up to date on vaccinations, quiet and does well in a crate; did I mention he's perfect?!
