WATCHIN RAIN 💧

This a tune I wrote a few weeks ago on the piano when the rains started fallin, as they have been.

It’s about watchin rain from heaven.

In this interim between Mother’s Day & Father’s Day, it’s only natural I get to thinkin about my own folks then blab about it on here.

I grew up on the gulf coast in Brazoria County, south of Houston, and daddy & I loved watching those perfect storms blow in over that salt water.

Now they’ve flown beyond birds eye and it got me thinkin how neat it’d be watchin those same storms from way up there.

It’s also a medley. The later half was impressed upon me, I stole some s**t and changed the words, but not without the proverbial hat-tip to ol Ben E. King.

About getting right back up when you fall.

And also, that idea of “If heaven had I height, you would be that tall,” a line from ‘s Like Water For Chocolate, which is a perfect record.
