Foreman by 25. Then superintendent. Business agent. Whatever's next.
"I just want to step up."
Meet Fili, the next generation of Laborers.
She was intimidated. She did it anyway.
Shanink from Palmdale didn't know where she fit in the trades, so she joined WINTER (Women In Non-Traditional Employment Roles). She explored 14 trades, found the Laborers Union, and just passed bootcamp.

She didn't wait for strength. She built it.
No classroom can teach this. Our apprentices are out learning scaffold systems, running heavy equipment, finishing concrete, and mastering the trades that keep Southern California built and running hands-on, from day one.
This is training at Laborers Training School Azusa: real tools, real jobsites, real crews building real careers. Swipe through to see what a day in the program actually looks like.

Feel the Power.
Another Apprenticeship Entry Assessment in the books.
These candidates showed up ready to work. Hard hats on. Hands in. They put in the strength, stamina, and teamwork it takes to earn a place with the Laborers.
That day’s agility work included 92 lb. sandbags, 12-foot planks, cinder blocks, shoveling, and loaded wheelbarrows.
The AEA is a 5-day process: enrollment and a drug test, three days of physical agility, and an oral exit interview. It is the first real step toward a union career you can build on.

Honor and Remembrance: September 11th
The Laborers Training School pauses to honor and remember the heroes, fallen workers, and innocent lives lost on September 11, 2001.
We pay tribute to the incredible bravery of the first responders, building trade professionals, and everyday citizens who stepped up in our nation’s darkest hours.
Today, and every day, we stand united in strength, solidarity, and remembrance.

Happy Father's Day!
Today, we celebrate the fathers, grandfathers, and father figures who help build strong families, strong communities, and a strong future.
Whether you're teaching lessons on the jobsite, leading by example at home, or passing on the values of hard work, dedication, and integrity, your impact reaches far beyond the work you do each day.
