A couple of weeks ago LB received free tickets to the Bar Exam event hosted in Northeast Baltimore!

“The Bar Exam,” hosted by KEYS Empowers, is an eight-week music development and music therapy program for participants ages 14-25.

The program connects singers, rappers, and other artists with professional musicians and producers who have worked with artists like Lil Wayne and Brandy, while also providing access to professional therapists.

Our team was able to attend the final round and meet special guests. (Photo includes PRP worker Jenell with client, and then client with special guests YG Teck.)

🌟 Growing, Learning & Building Brighter Futures 🌟 This summer, we proudly welcomed our second Summer Camp cohort, providing teens with a safe space to connect, grow, and have fun. 💙 Through harm reduction, prevention education, mental health support, mentorship, and engaging activities, youth built confidence, healthy coping skills, and positive connections.

Here’s to another meaningful summer of empowering our youth! 💫

August is Overdose Awareness month.
We remember those we have lost to drug overdose without judgment.

We also want to share how to notice the signs when someone may be experiencing an overdose. This can be a heavy post but it’s necessary.

“Naloxone, commonly known as Narcan, is a life-saving medication that reverses opioid overdoses. It is easy to use, and there are no side effects if used on someone who is not experiencing an overdose. Naloxone/Narcan is free of charge through our Overdose Response Program. It is also available over the counter and can be purchased at a pharmacy. (https://www.baltimorecity.gov/health/our-work/naloxone-access-in-baltimore-city)

Healing can happen in many ways and sometimes, it happens together in community. 💙

In partnership with live_.md , we provided community auricular acupuncture for clients participating in our substance use disorder (SUD) services. This practice involves the placement of small, sterile needles at specific points on the ear and can be used as a complementary wellness practice to promote relaxation, mindfulness, and a sense of calm.

Experiences like these offer our clients an opportunity to slow down, connect with themselves and others, and explore additional tools that may support their recovery and overall well-being.

A special thank you to Dr. Quinn for providing these services and helping us create a meaningful wellness experience for our community. We’re grateful for partnerships that allow us to continue supporting recovery through connection, community, and whole-person care. 💙💚
