Yesterday was a truly special day for the Cardiac Crews Foundation.
We had the honor of visiting the University of Michigan to present a $10,000 donation to the Save A Heart Fund at C.S. Mott Children's Hospital
According to Michigan Medicine, a gift of this size can fund a vital congenital heart research project for an entire year, helping advance treatments and improve outcomes for children born with heart disease.
This donation is only possible because of the generosity of our sponsors, donors, volunteers, and everyone who has supported our events throughout the year. Every ticket purchased, sponsorship secured, raffle entered, and donation made helped make this moment possible.
To the amazing doctors, nurses, specialists, and staff at the Mott Congenital Heart Center—thank you for the compassion, hope, and life-changing care you provide every single day.
We're honored to play a part in supporting your mission, and we're more motivated than ever to continue making a difference for children and families in our community.

On this day in 1944, a breakthrough changed the future for kids born with CHD. ❤️🩹
At Johns Hopkins Hospital, Dr. Alfred Blalock, Dr. Helen Taussig, and Surgical Technician Vivien Thomas performed the first surgery to treat Tetralogy of Fallot—a that limits oxygen in the blood and can cause a bluish skin tone.
Their pioneering work became known as the Blalock-Thomas-Taussig Shunt, and it opened the door for decades of lifesaving heart surgeries that children rely on today.
At Cardiac Crews, stories like this fuel our mission. We’re here to support CHD warriors, empower families, and help drive the next generation of breakthroughs. ❤️

1 in 4 babies born with a CHD will need surgery in their first year. 💗
Our mission is to make those outcomes better, safer, and less invasive.
Research changes futures. 🫶

Every year, 1 in 100 babies is born with a congenital heart defect — the most common birth defect worldwide.
For many families, the journey begins in the first days of life.
We share this because awareness drives research, and research saves lives.
