Whitelock Community Farm

🌧️ WEATHER UPDATE, FRIENDS!

Due to tomorrow’s inclement weather, we’ll be postponing our scheduled activities at the farm, including:

• Cooking Demo
• Volunteer Day
• CSA Pickup
• Free Produce Giveaway
• Compost Drop-Off

We look forward to welcoming everyone back during our regular volunteer hours, 10 AM–1 PM, next week.

We’ll also share an update soon with a new date for our Cooking Demo. 🌱🥕🍲

Thank you for understanding, and please stay safe and have a wonderful weekend! 💚

What an incredible day of community! 🌱💚

A huge thank you to everyone who came out and showed love as we prepared our pollinator garden beds for fall. Next year, we’re excited to welcome even more beautiful native Maryland plants to create a thriving space for our local pollinators. 🐝🦋🌼

From harvesting fish peppers 🌶️ and spreading fresh mulch along our garden pathways to compost drop off, CSA pickup, free produce give-a-way and getting our beds ready for the season ahead, so many hands came together to care for this space.

We’re incredibly grateful for everyone who continues to show up, lend a hand, and grow alongside us. You are the reason we do this work. 💚

Want to get involved? Join us for an upcoming Saturday Volunteer Day. There’s always room in the garden for another set of hands! 🌱🙌🏾

🌱 Another amazing volunteer day for the books! 🌱

We truly cannot thank everyone enough who came out to make our Fall Planting Day such a huge success. 💚

Together, we planted nearly 80 new seedlings generously donated by the Baltimore Farm Alliance, helping us fill our beds with even more food for our community this fall.

We also got to work building and refreshing our fall garden beds with soil delivered by Veterans Compost. From wheelbarrow after wheelbarrow of soil and compost to building beds, planting seedlings, and beautifying the farm, y’all WORKED. 😂💪🏾

And that was just the beginning!

Our Saturday also included our CSA, compost drop-off, and our free farmstand giveaway. Everyone who stopped by the farm was able to take home a free bag of fresh produce. 🥬🍅

If you’re ever in need of fresh food, come see us on Saturdays. You can also visit our Community Fridge right here on the property, where we share extra produce for anyone who needs it. No questions asked. ❤️

This is what community looks like.

It’s people showing up, getting their hands dirty, moving mountains of soil, planting food, sharing resources, and taking care of a space together.

We could not do this work without our volunteers, partners, and neighbors who continue to show up for Whitelock Community Farm. Thank you, thank you, THANK YOU! 🥹🌱

Now we’re ready to watch all these little seedlings grow! 👀🌿

Come check out the garden and see what’s happening next Saturday. We’d love to have you out here!

A HUGE thank you to everyone who came out today and helped make it so special! 💚 Y’all showed up, got your hands dirty, caught a vibe, and put in some serious work. 🙌🏾

Our fall garden beds are prepped, refreshed, and ready for next week’s planting! 🍂🌱 We’re so excited for what’s growing and we truly couldn’t do it without our amazing volunteers.

And listen… our volunteer days are FUN! 😌🌻 Whether you’re a seasoned gardener or have never touched a shovel before, there’s a place for you here. Come learn, connect, get your hands in the soil, and catch a vibe with us!

🥬 Our CSA is still going strong for everyone currently enrolled! We’re just pausing new sign-ups for the month of September as we prepare and plant for our fall crop. 🌱🍂

In the meantime, we still want to see YOU at the farm! Our farm stand is stocked with FREE fresh produce for the community, so stop by, grab some goodies, and spend a little time with us. 🥕🌶️🍅

At the heart of what we do is simple: nourish the community. 💚

So come through, say hey, grab some produce, and enjoy the farm. All are welcome!

Until next week, y’all. 🌱✨
Earthly blessings! ✨

🌱 IMPORTANT COMMUNITY UPDATE 🍂

Our Wednesday compost drop-offs and weekday volunteer days will be taking a little pause and will resume in October! 🍁

In the meantime, if you’d like to help out with tasks during the week, please reach out; we’d love to find a way to get you involved. 💚🌻

Otherwise, we’ll see you at our regular Saturday Volunteer Day! 🧑🏾‍🌾✨

📅 Every Saturday
⏰ 10 AM–1 PM

Thank you for continuing to show up, support, and grow with us! 🌱🫶🏾

Greetings Farmily!!!

This year has been such a busy time at the farm! We’ve hosted over 14 organizations with over 400 volunteers so far this year!

We’ve been able to distribute over 2000 pounds of produce from the farm this year and increased our CSA membership to 30 from 5 members in 2025.

We employed 5 young men ages 14 - 16, this summer as a part of our partnership with Bmore Beautiful for our Soil & Seeds Intergenerational Youth Program.

This is incredibly important work that takes a lot of time, planning, energy, and care.

For the next week, the WCF team is taking a pause for rest.

We’ll resume regular volunteering on Wednesday, September 2nd with the CSA and Farm Stand resuming on Saturday, September 5th.

We appreciate your grace!

The Whitelock Community Farm Team

Today’s the day! 🖤🌱

We’re so honored to be part of Cllctivgive and to stand alongside other Black-led organizations making a difference here in Baltimore. ✨

For the next 24 hours, we’re working toward our $20,000 fundraising goal, and every single gift makes a real impact. No donation is too small. 💚

If Whitelock Community Farm has inspired you, helped you, or if you believe in growing community through food, land, and care, we’d be so grateful for your support. 🌻

Are you joining us for the month of August?

We are locked in for August! Join us on the land for volunteering, composting, yoga, cooking demos, and our weekly farm stand!

See you all soon!

At Whitelock Community Farm, everything we do is rooted in one simple mission: to nourish our neighbors by providing fresh, healthy, and accessible produce at no cost to our community.

Our work is made possible through a community stewardship model, powered by the generosity of volunteers, partners, and neighbors who believe that everyone deserves access to fresh food. Together, we’ve cultivated more than a farm; we’ve grown a space for connection, wellness, and belonging.

As we continue to grow, so do the opportunities to deepen our impact. Your support helps us care for the land, expand our harvests, and ensure that fresh produce remains freely available to those who need it most.

Please consider making a donation today by visiting the link in our bio or our website. Every gift, no matter the size, helps us continue nourishing the Whitelock community.

Together, we can grow something extraordinary.

It’s been such a beautiful growing season, and we’re only halfway through the summer. While the heat has been intense, we’re incredibly grateful for the abundance this season has brought and for every community member who has volunteered, supported, and helped our farm thrive.

Every photo here was taken today, and we wanted to share a glimpse of the beauty growing right here in Reservoir Hill. 🌻🌿

Whether you’re looking to get your hands in the soil, meet your neighbors, or simply spend time in a space rooted in care and community, we’d love to have you join us.

Come experience the magic with us at an upcoming volunteer day. Together, we’re growing so much more than food. 💚
