Mid-Atlantic (Baltimore) tutor Sharon Flagler donated ~500 books this week, which we could not be more grateful for her partnership!!

Our "Take Reading With You" book program is designed to help students continue their literacy journey at home so that they may become lovers of reading. For Sharon, her first year tutoring at Westport Elementary filled her with joy and a sense of purpose. As soon as Summer hit, she was out in the community, corrdinating effots to collects books for our students.

We are hopeful there will continue to be more volunteers who seek opportunities to deepen their partnership by donating books, supplies and funds to help support our program.

Sharon is a true Reading Partner!

On the 25th anniversary of 9/11, the Reading Partners Mid-Atlantic team turned to the nation's capital to serve with the 9/11 Day organization.

A day marked with tremendous grief and fear becomes a day to remember those past and present whom we love dearly and the first responders who work so hard to keep us safe. It is truly inspiring to be in a room with people who understand that only by working together, serving together, can we truly be one great nation.

Thousands of small acts...multiplied across communities across the US... become a culture of impact.

At Reading Partners, one of our core values is "Together we are better". Helping to package over 700,000 meals for those in need is just one of many ways our organization lives in that core value. Thank you to AmeriCorps and the 9/11 Day team for the opportunity to uplift our local community.
