Now in its 10th year, the EnterpRISE pitch competition has supported 78 startups, awarded $149,250 in cash investments, and supported the creation of over 50 jobs. Participating companies reported aggregate revenue of $3,010,053 and 96 jobs created within 6 months of completing the contest. But it's not just money -- each year, we offer business workshops, shop classes, and 12 months of free membership at Open Works, one of the largest makerspaces in the United States!

Open Works' Teen Maker Program is a skill acquisition focused after school program. Learn, design and build with laser cutters, sewing machines and more.

$400 stipend available per cohort, participation-based.

October-December 2026: Sewing + Textiles
January-April 2027: Digital Fabrication
Tuesdays, 4-7PM | Thursdays, 4-6PM | 3-4pm “Study Hall"

To apply, please first make sure that you meet the following requirements:
+ Must be enrolled as a full-time student (Public Baltimore City High School or equivalent program)
+ Must be 15 (turning 16 before programming is over) - 19 year old
+ Must be able to attend ALL class sessions
+ Must complete application form
