Meet Jim Condron
We’ve shared Jim’s work here before, and we’re excited to feature him in our upcoming exhibition.

Jim lives and works in Brooklyn, NY, and Baltimore, MD. Working in both painting and sculpture, he often uses found and salvaged materials to create unexpected forms.

He has received grants from the Pollock-Krasner Foundation, the Adolph and Esther Gottlieb Foundation, and the Maryland State Arts Council, and his work is also held in public collections, including the American Visionary Art Museum, Long Beach Museum of Art, and the Basil & Elise Goulandris Foundation Museum of Contemporary Art in Greece. He currently teaches at the Maryland Institute College of Art (MICA) and Towson University.

Jim’s work will be on view in no idea but in things, a two-person exhibition with Dean Kessmann.

This October, MONO PRACTICE brings together two artists who approach perception from different directions—Jim Condron through sculpture and Dean Kessmann through photography.

“no idea but in things” looks to the overlooked material of everyday life, where the real gives way to abstraction and matter quietly accumulates meaning.
