This summer brought so many opportunities to get out, explore, connect, and try new things.

Individuals we support enjoyed trips to Hovatter’s Zoo, the Smithsonian’s National Zoo in Washington, DC, Catoctin Wildlife Preserve, Hersheypark, a Keys baseball game, and so much more!

We also took time to celebrate our incredible Direct Support Professionals during DSP Week by giving out gas cards and a sweet treat as a small thank-you for all they do. 💛

It was a summer full of community, connection, and memorable experiences!

Recently, our Spectrum family came together at Old National Park to celebrate the life of our dear friend, Rocheal.

Surrounded by beautiful weather, good food, and many of the people who loved her, we shared memories and stories and took time to speak about the impact Rocheal had on all of us. It was a meaningful day filled with love, laughter, and remembrance.

We are grateful for the time we had with Rocheal and for the many memories she left with us. She will be deeply missed and always remembered. ❤️

WBLE Success Story: Samuel 💛

Samuel had a great WBLE experience at Community Cafe in Cumberland! He built valuable workplace skills by washing dishes, cleaning, wrapping silverware, and assisting with serving customers and desserts.

Samuel brought a positive attitude, strong work ethic, and willingness to learn each day. He even proudly announced on his first day that he was going to be “Employee of the Month!” ⭐

We’re proud to celebrate Samuel’s growth and success!

Today, we remember those who lost their lives on September 11, 2001, and honor the heroes who stepped forward. ❤️🇺🇸

WBLE Success Story: Zakirah 💛

This summer, Zakirah gained valuable hands-on work experience at Mr. Toad’s Pottery in Cumberland through Spectrum Support’s Summer WBLE Program.

During her placement, Zakirah learned how to cut and roll clay, create shapes and ornaments, bake completed pieces, and clean and finish her work. She also developed new skills through hands-on training and working alongside her co-workers.

Zakirah consistently showed a strong work ethic, positive attitude, and willingness to learn. We’re so proud of the skills and confidence she developed throughout her WBLE experience! 👏
