SOMOS (Students Organizing a Multicultural and Open Society) We are Baltimore City College's Latinx and Immigrant Student Organization (revised 2019)
Our Mission Statement:
SOMOS is Baltimore City College’s minority student organization & was founded in May 2014. The word “somos” means “we are” in Spanish which signifies that every member lays down their personal experience to help build our missions. We are a multicultural group that welcomes all ethnicities, races, and sexualities. SOMOS tackles systemic issues of injustice in schools, the Baltimore community, and the nation through activism, solidarity with other partners, and raising awareness of students' rights.

This week SOMOS partnered with students from North Carolina and Pennsylvania to volunteer for the Baltimore community and discover how we live differently from those in other communities across the US.

On Tuesday, 06/16/26- SOMOS had a delicious lunch meal and Sailing adventure with Students from North carolina!

On May 21, SOMOS🧡🖤 had a Senior Farewell. Where WE honored our seniors hard work throughout their high school years at Baltimore City College in SOMOS by enjoying delicious well deserved meals at a Italian restaurant.
We also honored 9th,10th,11th “ SOMOS champions”. For each grade we selected the most outstanding student. Honoring their outstanding hard work and dedication put throughout the 25-26 school year.

SERVICE LEARNING OPPORTUNITY - Bring in old newspapers or magazines to Ms. Muller's office (newspapers preferred) to help SOMOS out on international night. This will help make piñatas for childcare. Donations are very appreciated.
