Baltimore DanceTech offers dance instruction in a family centered environment. Baltimore DanceTech (BDT) was established in 1999 by Yvonne E.
Walker and Stephanie Powell. Located in Baltimore, Maryland, our professionally trained teachers provide an exceptional dance education with an emphasis on technique, discipline, and performance. Our youngest students learn the basics of movement in PreDance, while our older students receive instruction in Ballet, Pointe, Modern, Tap, and Hip Hop. Our students attend master classes sponsored by area colleges in addition to in-house master classes taught by guest instructors and choreographers. Students from Baltimore DanceTech have been accepted to performing arts after school programs, middle and high schools, as well as summer programs all over the country, including the Debbie Allen Summer Intensive (Los Angeles, CA), Central Pennsylvania Youth Ballet (Carlisle, PA) Alvin Ailey American Dance Center (New York, NY), Oldfields School Summer Theater Intensive (Glencoe, MD), and the Dance Theater of Harlem (New York, NY).

Registration is open for Baltimore DanceTech’s 27th Season! Tiny twirlers to advanced artists, ages 3–18 can train in Ballet, Modern, Hip Hop, and Tap with caring, professional instructors. We had a great time at the 39th International Association of Blacks in Dance Conference and Festival in Atlanta, GA. In addition to performing at the Scholarship and Awards Program, our students and staff participated in master classes, workshops, discussion groups with some of the legends African American dance. A shout out to our dancers who auditioned and were awarded scholarships to attend summer dance intensives around the country.
