AUGUST WILSON’S JITNEY

Produced in partnership with the Baltimore August Wilson Celebration, FPCT is proud to present the seventh play in August Wilson's extraordinary American Century Cycle. In the Hill District of Pittsburgh in 1977, a group of Black men struggle to make a living as drivers for a makeshift taxi company. While Jitney falls eighth chronologically in the American Century Cycle, it was the first play of the series to be written and produced.

THE CHILDREN by LUCY KIRKWOOD

In February, FPCT is proud to present the Baltimore premiere of The Children by Lucy Kirkwood. Set on the English coast after a nuclear disaster, retired nuclear physicists Hazel and Robin sit in their kitchen with Rose, reconnected after 38 years. Two backstories emerge - one from many years ago and one more recent. The (literally) burning question is… what is to be done?

THE CURIOUS INCIDENT OF THE DOG IN THE NIGHT-TIME by SIMON STEPHENS

In May, FPCT will bring you a beloved novel transformed into a boundary-stretching play. 15-year old Christopher stands beside his neighbor's dead dog. Christopher has an extraordinary brain but he has never ventured beyond the end of his road. Christopher's detective work, forbidden by his father, takes him on a frightening, humorous, and ultimately empowering journey into the adult world.

Creative Drama for Kids is a journey into imagination for young actors that focuses on creativity, collaboration, and play!

Through theater games, storytelling, and dramatization of familiar stories, students will learn how to work together as an ensemble, develop communication skills, explore empathy, and build confidence. It’s a fun, inviting space where young performers can run wild with their imaginations and discover the joy of theater.
