🔬 From the classroom to cutting-edge cancer research.
Coppin State University senior and biology major Mariam Oyelade spent her summer gaining hands-on experience in cancer research at the University of Maryland School of Medicine through the Nathan Schnaper Intern Program in Translational Cancer Research.
During the internship, Mariam contributed to research involving CAR-T cell therapy and presented her work at UMSOM’s annual Student Research Forum alongside more than 160 student researchers.
The experience brings Mariam another step closer to her goal of becoming a pediatric oncologist while demonstrating the opportunities Coppin students are pursuing beyond the classroom.
🦅 We’re proud to see our Eagles gaining real-world experience, contributing to important research, and preparing to make an impact in STEM and health care.
