Acting my weight by being booked and busy as full time art, and also working out 6 days a week 😉💋

Can we get over this whole “women need to be 125 lbs to be beautiful” thing already?
Women have been painted, sketched, sculpted, photographed, loved, admired, desired, and worshipped for centuries in every shape, size, softness, curve, and form imaginable.
Qualifying beauty by a number on a scale is so painfully yesterday 🙂‍↔️
Being a curvy model has made my relationship with my body incredibly polarizing. Somehow, in the last two years, I’ve fallen more in love with my body than I ever have while also finding entirely new things to pick apart, hate, and cry over.
I’ve been on set and heard “get plus size over here” used to identify me. I’ve been backstage at runway shows as the only girl who isn’t a size 0–2, so naturally I’m handed the one-piece bathing suit or the one “plus size” dress… even when it’s so big there’s no chance in hell it’s staying up.
I’ve been told I’m plus size. I’ve been told I’m not the “right kind” of plus size. I’ve been told I’m too curvy.
Meanwhile, four years ago I was an ex-athlete working out 7 days a week, sometimes 3 hours a day, and I still looked pretty much like this. I just had bigger shoulder muscles.
So, like, what exactly is the number supposed to tell you?
I’ve built a full-time career out of loving, hating, admiring, criticizing, dressing, un******ng, photographing, and endlessly exploring this body.
At 180 lbs when I started modeling.
At 148 lbs after being sick.
At 170 lbs.
And now, at whatever 160ish lbs I happen to be.
And through every version of it, this body has still made art.
So screw your numbers. You’re getting all 160ish lbs of art and attitude. 💋

Another image from my shoot with Duncan! I had to post this one solo because social media is not kind to horizontal images, but I really love this one for its moodiness. It’s always a great time when the stars align and you get to spend time with your kid once they are a certain age, but it’s even cooler creating something together. I keep trying to come up with a title for this image, but it is difficult trying to separate myself from knowing who I’m shooting here, so I’m coming up with less than interesting ideas. Maybe you can help out with an appropriate title! Studio Skyloft F Rental Studio Overall badass assistant and hype person Britt Olsen-Ecker
