Japanese electronic artist In The Blue Shirt has been at the forefront of the country’s independent dance music scene for nearly a decade now, crafting a distinct sound built around chopped-up vocal samples and speedy beats. The solo project of Ryo Arimura finds fresh angles on familiar sounds, and retrofits them into thrilling new creations.


Started in the early 2010s, Arimura quickly attracted attention from electronic-leaning media and fans in the country through tracks shared online showcasing his approach to slicing up vocals and rearranging them into dizzying cuts.

it’s almost like my modeling journey is a distant dream. I don’t think it will ever be prioritized as it used to be in my life (unless someone drops me a million dollar contract😜). and that’s okay. i have new dreams that take over my life and interests completely and i’ve never felt so passionate in my life 🤟 i do think y’all need to see some of the stuff i been sittin on though cuz it’s beautiful. sending all my love to everyone, from day one to new followers 💖
