One Family. Two Generations. Two World Championships!

ATI Performance Products celebrated a landmark weekend at the PDRA Drag Racing Series World Finals at Virginia Motorsports Park, where J.C. Beattie Jr. and his son, James Beattie III, each secured a PDRA world championship. For the Beattie family, the achievement represents far more than two trophies. It is the latest chapter in a racing and manufacturing legacy that began with ATI founder Jim Beattie and now extends through three generations.

J.C. Beattie Jr. completed a dominant season by capturing his first PDRA Pro 632 World Championship—and he did not stop there. Driving the spec .036 jet nitrous-fed, Reher-Morrison-powered 2018 Bickel Camaro, tuned by Dave Hanlon, and boasting a full complement of ATI drive line components, Beattie qualified No.1 for the 4th time this season and raced his way to a 4th victory of the season. In the final round, Beattie ran a 4.10 at 176.01 mph to defeat Jeff Pittman’s 4.170 at 170.99 mph.

Before the weekend was over, the celebration became a family affair.

James Beattie III advanced to the Pro Jr. Dragster final on Sunday evening with his '25 Mike Bos chassis powered by Nic Woods engines, and with his runner-up result, secured the 2026 PDRA Pro Jr. Dragster World Championship in his rookie season competing in the highly competitive 7.90 category. More remarkable was a nearly 450 point deficit that Beattie III had to make up to achieve this victory! The championship is James’s second PDRA world title. He previously captured the 2024 PDRA Top Jr. Dragster World Championship, adding another accomplishment to a racing résumé that is already impressive for the third-generation, 13 year old driver.

“To win my first Pro 632 championship and the World Finals was already more than I could have asked for,” said J.C. Beattie Jr. “But watching James race his way to his second championship in the same weekend made it something our family will never forget. We work together, race together and experience every high and low together. To leave Virginia as father-and-son world champions is incredibly special.”

J.C. Beattie Jr.'s PDRA Pro 632 event win and season championship was even more memorable because he shared the moment with his son, James Beattie III, whose final-round appearance in Pro Jr. Dragster on Sunday night at the PDRA World Finals earned him the 2026 points championship as well. It is his second championship, as he previously won the title in Top Jr. Dragster.

Kole Paone Secures Mid Atlantic Jr Dragster Championship Equipped with an ATI Super Jr Damper!

A new champion was crowned this past weekend at Mason Dixon Dragway as Kole Paone officially wrapped up the Mid Atlantic Junior Dragster Series championship in the 8.90 & Slower division. The highly competitive series travels to premier racetracks across the Northeast that routinely drawing top-tier NHRA Division 1 sportsman racers.

Paone’s road to the title showcased remarkable consistency. The Mid Atlantic Junior Dragster Series featured 10 races split across five double-header weekends. Despite missing one full event to compete at the NHRA Eastern Conference Finals in Bristol, Tennessee, Paone dominated the remaining eight race days. He advanced to the final round six times, capturing one victory and five runner-up finishes to lock up the championship – an incredible statistical feat that has earned him the nickname "Iceman." Showing his adaptability, Paone also stepped into a borrowed junior dragster earlier this year at a PDRA National Event and claimed victory in the competitive Top Junior class.

Racing runs deep in the Paone family, anchored by his grandparents, the owners of KMR (formerly Craw) Racing Engines. Paone's championship-winning powerplant, built by Al Kubicke of KMR, relied on the ATI Super Junior Damper all season long to deliver maximum performance and consistency on every pass.

The rest of the Paone racing family also turned heads this season. Kole's older brother secured a top-5 points finish in the ultra-competitive 7.90 division, his younger brother claimed a top-5 points standing in his respective class, and his youngest brother logged multiple round wins in fewer than 10 total career passes.

ATI Performance Products serves as both a proud series sponsor and a contingency sponsor of the Mid Atlantic Junior Dragster Series, supporting the next generation of drag racing talent.

With our slim points lead in the .632 class, the focus has shifted over to our 632 car to close out the season. We’ve seen our ups and downs like everyone else, but this build has really delivered for us this year. Look forward to seeing where we land when the dust settles…but I will be a battle for the top spot no doubt. Bring it on. 😎🤝
