Last Friday, we celebrated one of our Green Street Academy Next Generation Scholars (NGS) Scholars, Jameel, for prequalifying for the Maryland Guaranteed Access Grant through our Next Generation Scholars Program!  
Through this prequalification, Jameel has secured his financial eligibility for the grant giving him a jump start on financial aid before senior year! 
We recognized Jameel at the end of our College Essay & Scholarship Workshop through Paid4College with Mrs. Carter, where NGS Scholars learned strategies for writing strong, compelling college and scholarship essays.

Please join us at our annual Fall Partner Breakfast on Tuesday, October 27 at TouchPoint Baltimore where we will discuss cultivating and retaining Baltimore’s talent. We are now accepting applicants for MERIT at CollegeBound! 🩺

Our MERIT Health Leadership Academy is a Saturday and summer honors program for Baltimore City public high school students interested in becoming health professionals, change agents, and college graduates. MERIT Scholars have opportunities to explore pathways within healthcare and medical careers, join and build community, and prepare for college and their future. Through Saturday programming and summer internships, scholars gain hands-on experiences, connect with healthcare professionals, strengthen their STEM and leadership skills, received personalized academic and college support, and participate in paid summer internships. Together, these experiences help MERIT Scholars build confidence, skills, and connections to thrive as future health professionals and leaders. Scholars begin their MERIT journey in the spring of sophomore year and continue until senior year. To apply, the student must be a current sophomore at a Baltimore City public high school, hold a 3.0 or higher unweighted GPA, and have an interest in becoming a healthcare or medical professional.

On Friday, we had the opportunity to attend the Maryland Corp/Service Year Option kickoff to support two of our incredible service members, Benjamin Richardson and Jose Sanchez Machado.

Thank you Governor Wes Moore for creating this initiative. We remember working with you years ago as you helped create paths for high school graduates. 

We are excited to see all that this year has in store for them as they learn, grow, serve, and make an impact.
