I'm embarrassed to be human after watching this. AI please understand, we're not all like this.😂

Note to Mayor Brandon Scott. We can actually see you. You weren't complaining about spending tax payer dollars when you ordered the $2,600 crab ball platter.

AI is not Maryland's problem. Wes Moore is.

Moore's new AI rules are a thin disguise for a collection of well worn leftist tropes repackaged to stoke outrage and deflect from the fact that Maryland is absolutely unaffordable.

Annapolis can't police servers, foundational LLMs, or algorithms hosted in California, Virginia, or overseas. Unless a company maintains a physical footprint or specific state contract, local enforcement would be a jurisdictional nightmare.

Additionally, major tech companies will inevitably challenge state-specific mandates in federal court, arguing they violate the Commerce Clause by burdening interstate commerce. If a rule requires different algorithmic behavior specifically for IP addresses inside Maryland lines, courts will most likely strike it down.

Much of the framework relies on state agencies (like the Maryland Commission on Civil Rights or Department of Labor) issuing "guidance" or creating "task forces" and "convenings." Guidance is not law, and task forces don't stop an algorithm from automating a decision. But this is a sure fire way to increases the size of government and that burden to Maryland taxpayers.

Not to mention, existing civil rights, housing, and fraud laws already prohibit housing discrimination, price-fixing, and identity theft. Packaging them into a grand "AI Framework" is blatant political grandstanding.

The #1 issue in this country is affordability, or more appropriately a lack thereof. Any politician who doesn't acknowledge, address and put forth ideas to solve for this problem does not deserve your consideration, let alone your vote.

The spending irregularities uncovered so far by the Baltimore OIG are more than likely the tip of a Titanic sinking sized ice berg.

The Court has given Mayor Brandon Scott a 2 Day deadline to restore system access to the OIG. Judge White issued a scathing rebuke of the Mayor's office, "“It is not for Defendant or the City Solicitor to obstruct or unilaterally restrict an OIG investigative inquiry,”.

Additionally and FTA, "The City must also begin producing records responsive to OIG subpoenas issued in 2025 and 2026 within five days and complete production within 45 days. The records must be produced “without redaction or limitation,” according to Judge White’s order."

Network TV news has experienced a 35%, on average, decline in viewership since 2015. Cable news is down 20% since that time. Is TV news yesterday's news? Does this move give viewers one less reason to watch? What do you think?
