Witness what happens when young artists are given the resources, space, and relationships to bring their visions into form. Join Khalil for his one-day exhibition exploring the intergenerational experiences shaping Black youthhood.

The Truth speaks to the realities that shape who we are.

As Khalil writes:

“This body of work has blessed me with the accessibility and resources to materialize the aspirations of my past self… We are here. An eye for what’s real, a mean hustle and navigating this life with my loved ones has gotten us here. Genuinely, through the flaws and all, we here.”

Join us as we launch the Kenan Amori Book Fund (KABF) in honor of New Generation Scholar Malcolm Kenan Amori Alexander and his commitment to learning, culture, and collective possibility.
Together, we’ll gather for:

Muse 360 believes that ways of knowing are a conduit to worldbuilding. It expands the ways we encounter knowledge, understand ourselves, and locate our lives within a larger history.

The Kenan Amori Book Fund (KABF) places free books on Black history, political education, arts, culture, and movement history into the hands of young people ages 14–24—creating pathways for study, inquiry, and learning beyond the classroom.

Rooted in more than a decade of New Generation Scholars practice, KABF extends our commitment to building home libraries and cultivating lifelong relationships with knowledge.

If we are serious about liberation, we have to study the conditions we are organizing within.

We have to know the numbers, understand what is happening in our communities, and recognize where knowledge and access are being interrupted. In Baltimore City, nearly 7 in 10 middle school students are not reading proficiently.

The Kenan Amori Book Fund (KABF) responds to this condition by expanding literacy beyond academic achievement. We are placing free books on Black studies, political education, arts, culture, and movement history into the hands of young people ages 14–24 while connecting them to a lifelong ecosystem of study.

KABF is rooted in the belief that reading is a practice of critical inquiry. Through Muse 360’s freedom school technologies, young people will also have opportunities to engage in political education, ask deeper questions, examine the conditions around them, and develop the tools to imagine and participate in changing them.

We cannot pursue liberation without study. We cannot change what we do not understand.

i have learned to be open to the portals your ancestors leave for you. they rarely arrive the way you imagined.

More than 20 years ago, I didn’t know this would be my life’s work. I only knew there was a spark I couldn’t ignore. I didn’t know when it would take shape or what it would ask of me, only that it would require me to keep on keeping on

Cultural work is a practice of devotion. It asks for love, care, study, sacrifice, and an unwavering commitment to our people. There isn’t a day that goes by that I don’t choose this work, even when it is difficult. I cannot turn my back on what has been entrusted to me or on the young people, comrades, and communities who continue to shape my becoming. We are stewards.

I carry many North Stars with me>>my mother, Sharon Christmas, Ella Baker, Claudia Jones, June Jordan, Ericka Huggins, and Toni Cade Bambara..whose lives remind me that liberation is a daily practice of sowing….
