The fight continues to maintain a fair contract! This past week, we met with USM administrators to bargain for safe and stable working conditions.

The AFSCME bargaining team is made up of AFSCME members who work across the University System of Maryland (USM).

We had our second negotiations session on Tuesday, September 29. Following our recent win regarding the wage increases outlined in our union contract, these are some of the topics that we discussed:
* Appropriate advance notice for layoffs
* Retention of employee email access
* The right of AFSCME members to peacefully assemble

In total, our AFSCME bargaining team put over a dozen proposals across the table, and we are waiting for a response from the university system on many of them.

Our next session will be on Tuesday, October 20, at the University of Maryland Baltimore. Stay tuned!
