Devastating news out of Los Angeles - a reporter and pilot are dead following a news helicopter crash while covering another deadly story last night.

As a fellow journalist, this one hits close to home.

NBC4 confirms reporter Eliana Moreno and pilot George Marciniw were among the three people killed in the helicopter crash. A third person on the ground also died.

The crew was headed to cover a deadly bus crash in a Los Angeles suburb when their helicopter went down less than two miles from the scene. Two people were killed in that bus crash, and several others were injured in both incidents.

UPDATE - 1:23pm Monday, Sep 14.
The Brusly Police Department posted on their page saying "Everyone involved in this incident was in the wrong."

BPD also says they're seeking charges against the parents and kids involved. Adding, the driver of the SUV should not have fled the scene. However, investigators found that the golf court should not have been on the street. It was not "street legal" and should not have been driven by minors on a public road by law.

Happy Monday beautiful people 💚

: A woman is facing charges after an SUV hit two people on a golf cart in West Baton Rouge.

The crash happened on West St. Francis Street in Brusly, LA. Police say the SUV was attempting to pass the golf cart when it struck the two people before the driver left the scene.

Investigators later identified and arrested the driver as 38-year-old Adriel Nicole Smith. She was arrested and faces charges of felony hit and run and obstruction of justice.

The video is raising questions about what happened just before the crash and what led the driver to leave the scene.

Could LSU be out of the SEC ? What do you think ? 🤔

The future of LSU in the Southeastern Conference could be decided as early as tomorrow.

The SEC has amended its federal lawsuit seeking to move forward with a vote on whether to expel LSU from the conference. It requires a two-thirds majority vote from member university presidents and chancellors during a meeting set for Sept. 10.
