LOVE me a Red-Tailed Hawk!!!

Male Summer Tanager at Forest Community Park (Baton Rouge, LA) at the beginning of this summer. Just an absolutely stunning creature! Like a feathered flying mango. So grateful for the blessing to be able to watch this beauty for several minutes, and come away with some good pics.

Sure do love me some Lake Martin in South Louisiana! It’s iconic Cajun Country landscape/waterscape at its absolute best.

Northern Cardinals (simply known as “Cardinals” throughout most of the USA) really are such beautiful and captivating creatures. I wish I could honestly say “breathtaking,” as well. But I can’t. Because I have seen them so often for my entire life that they have long since ceased to take my breath away, if they ever did. But in 2024 when I encountered the Hooded Cardinals that inhabit Hawaii, my breath truly caught and I marveled at the sight. And they seemed to be just about as common there as our variety are around these parts.

May we never stop marveling at the beauty around us throughout God’s amazing creation, no matter how frequently or infrequently we may be blessed to behold certain sights. May we keep looking. May we keep seeing. May we keep caring. May we keep nurturing. May we keep celebrating. May we keep sharing.

Well, after 14 months of sharing my photos with the Greater Baton Rouge community at The Artist’s Loft, I made the decision to clear off my wall and let someone else give it a go on that prime piece of real estate. Thanks so very much to the wonderful community of folks at The Artist’s Loft, my awesome customers, supporters, and fans, my encouraging family and friends, my always supportive wife, and a very special thanks to my Big Ole Lad, Shep, who helped me every step of the way from first setup to multiple changeups to final takedown.

This experience really helped me to grow as a photographer - both in my technical skills and in my business savvy. And even though my photos will no longer be displayed for sale at The Artist’s Loft, I hope local folks will continue to support this terrific local business, and I will continue offering my images in various formats for purchase.
