Today, CHS students and faculty members acknowledged mental health awareness by wearing purple as a sign of solidarity with those who have experienced mental health challenges. After each lunch period, groups marched across campus to demonstrate our school community's support for self-care. It was a powerful reminder of the importance of looking after one another during times of struggle.

On Saturday, September 19th, Catholic High wrestlers built their tenth wheelchair ramp in ten years. This annual service project began in 2017 when the team joined forces with Rebuilding Together Baton Rouge, a local non-profit organization that serves extremely low-income homeowners who are age 65+, disabled, or veterans. Head Coach Tommy Prochaska '92 believes this project offers the young men he leads a powerful opportunity to learn valuable life skills for their future through the experience of making a positive impact on the lives of others.

The Catholic High Spanish club partnered up with SJA's Spanish club on September 21st for an art lesson. The students got to recreate Hand with Flowers, a famous work of art by Pablo Picasso. They also go to enjoy some Hispanic music, snacks and refreshments. The lesson gave everyone a fun-filled time and a genuine learning experience.

Congratulations to Spencer Crook ’27 and Preston Thompson ’27 for being selected to the Young Entrepreneurs Academy Class of 2026-27, where over the next few months they will turn an idea into a working business. These young men will be in charge of deciding what type of company they build and what to charge their customers. In addition, they will have to explain their business plans to an adult who asks hard questions and file their businesses with the Secretary of State. Every student leaves having built something few adults ever will: a company of their own.

Today, CHS student ministers met with our 8th and 9th grade Bears to catch up with them on their first few weeks at CHS. These meetings provide our upperclassmen with a chance to offer support to our newest students while also helping them feel a sense of community and brotherhood at school.
