Are you actually washing your locs… or just getting them wet? 👀

With long, mature locs, a good wash goes beyond cleaning the scalp. Because the hair is intertwined and compacted, proper saturation, cleansing, rinsing AND drying all matter.

One of the biggest things I notice is people rushing the saturation and rinse process—especially when their locs are long. Wash day may take longer, but the goal is to thoroughly cleanse the hair, not just make the outside look and feel clean.

My rule: SATURATE → CLEANSE → RINSE → DRY.

Now I want to hear from the loc community: Do you wash your locs at home between retwists, or do you wait for your loctitian? 👇🏾

This wasn’t just a house call — it was a postpartum visit. 🥹💕

My client recently welcomed her baby, so instead of having her worry about getting out of the house and coming to the salon, I brought the Mended Locs experience to her.

Sometimes self-care after having a baby can be as simple as sitting down, getting your hair done and feeling a little more like yourself again. 💕

Meanwhile, I clock out of the salon and clock right into my second shift. 😂😂

My ride home has questions, stories, arguments, snacks being requested, and somebody calling “MOMMA” every 3 minutes.

Silence where?! 😭
