225 Dance

Dance Instructor Kerry Jenkins Villnuve grew up in Baton Rouge, La, and danced under the direction of Marianne Hebert and Madalyn Monteguedo studying tap, jazz, ballet, and pointe. Kerry performed lead roles such as Kayla (Tarzan) and the Wizard (Wicked) during her eight years performing as a principal at 2M's School of Dance. Growing up in a cajun family, Kerry originally learned to cajun dance from both sets of her grandparents. When Kerry was ten years old, her parents brought her and her two brothers to the cajun restaurant now known as Boutin's to learn to dance. As a part of La Joie de Vie children's dance troupe, Kerry and her brothers performed all over Louisiana. Kerry and her family still frequently dance and love passing the tradition on to others. Kerry has now been joined by her husband, Kent Villnuve, who turned out to be a great dancer and now assists in teaching Cajun Dance :)
