The Baton Rouge Police Department would like to commend 1st District Uniform Patrol Cpl. Anthony Nguyen, Officer Xavier Barge, and Officer Joshua Kennedy for their outstanding efforts and dedication to serving the citizens of Baton Rouge.

On Tuesday, August 18, 2026, at approximately 4:53 p.m., Cpl. Nguyen and assisting officers were proactively patrolling the streets of Baton Rouge when they conducted a traffic stop that ultimately resulted in the seizure of approximately 17 kilograms of co***ne, with an estimated street value exceeding $2 million.

This significant seizure demonstrates the officers’ commitment to proactive policing, crime prevention, and keeping illegal narcotics out of our community. Their vigilance, teamwork, and dedication to duty exemplify the high standards expected of members of the Baton Rouge Police Department.

The Baton Rouge Police Department sincerely appreciates Cpl. Nguyen, Officer Barge, and Officer Kennedy for their hard work, professionalism, and continued dedication to protecting and serving the citizens of Baton Rouge.

The Baton Rouge Police Department is pleased to formally recognize and commend Officer Jonathan Langlinais for his courageous and life-saving actions on August 15, 2026, while responding to a shooting incident at 999 Rosenwald.

Upon Ofc. Langlinais's arrival, he located a gunshot victim suffering from a severe, life-threatening gunshot wound to the leg. Recognizing the immediate danger posed by the victim’s significant blood loss, Ofc. Langlinais quickly assessed the situation and took decisive action.

Ofc. Langlinais deployed and properly applied a tourniquet to the victim’s leg, successfully stopping the bleeding. His immediate and flawless application of the tourniquet stabilized the victim and prevented further blood loss, ultimately preventing the victim from bleeding to death.

Ofc. Langlinais actions demonstrate the highest level of professionalism, composure, training, and dedication to the citizens we serve. In a critical and time-sensitive situation, Ofc. Langlinais relied on his training and acted without hesitation to provide potentially life-saving medical attention.

Drug Arrest at a Local Business

On September 9, 2026, as part of an ongoing investigation, Narcotics Detectives executed a search warrant at a local business in the 9500 block of S. Choctaw. During the course of the investigation narcotics, a fi***rm and U.S. Currency were sized.
