Tomorrow is World Communion Sunday, a day when Christians around the world celebrate the many ways we are connected across communities, cultures, and continents.

At UPC, we’ll celebrate that connection together. Wherever you are in the world, there’s something powerful about remembering that we’re part of something bigger than ourselves.

World Communion Sunday is this weekend. Want to learn more? Check this out:

As we move through our stewardship season, we’re taking a little time each week to pause, reflect, and consider the experiences and people that have shaped our lives for which we are grateful.

This week’s reflection:

“What is a time in your life for which you are grateful?”

Our Day School just got a little bit younger.

University Presbyterian Day School is now accepting infants as young as 6 weeks old!

We love watching little ones discover their world, make new friends, and grow at their own pace. Now we get to start even earlier.

Know a family with a new baby? Tell them the news!

Youth, parents, teamwork, and a whole lot of boxes. Our UPC crew recently spent the day volunteering at the Greater Baton Rouge Food Bank, doing their part to help our neighbors.

If you could spend a day volunteering anywhere in Baton Rouge, where would you go?

Lord, you have been our dwelling place in all generations:
before the mountains were brought forth;
before ever you had formed the earth and the world;
from everlasting to everlasting you are God.
Celebrating the One who was, is, and ever shall be,
Let us worship God.
Amen.

Continuing our series where at the beginning of each week, we share a new prayer as we recognize the long-term impacts of natural and human-caused disasters. We invite you to share your specific prayer concerns in the comments, if you feel called, so we may pray together as a community. This week, we lift up families who migrated or sought refuge in another country.
Let us pray,
God of the sojourner, you know every road those who migrate have walked and every door that closed behind them. Give them safe welcome, steady work, and neighbors who see them as kin rather than strangers. Keep their families whole and their hope alive until home means somewhere again. Amen.
