Baton Rouge's Emerge Center expands hearing health access through Sound of Hope BATON ROUGE — The Emerge Center is expanding its Sound of Hope initiative this fall tohelp more people in the community recognize, address and overcome the barriers created byhearing loss.

A little help hearing can make a big difference.

For many adults, hearing loss can make every day moments more difficult, from following a conversation with family to participating in activities they enjoy. Through Sound of Hope, Emerge works to connect individuals in our community with the hearing care and hearing aids they need.

What is SPARK in the Community?

SPARK is a national autism genetic research initiative. SPARK in the Community is a free Autism Seminar & Resource Fair hosted by LSU's College of Human Sciences & Education, bringing together researchers and community organizations to share resources with autistic individuals, families, and caregivers.

The event is free, but registration is required and spots are limited. See below!

CAAN is joining SPARK for Autism in the Community, LSU, The Emerge Center, and The Magnolia Rose Foundation for the Autism Seminar & Resource Fair on Sunday, September 13, 2026, from 4–6pm CDT at the LSU Huey Long Field House Ballroom (50 Field House Drive, Baton Rouge, LA).

This free event brings together researchers, service providers, and local organizations to share resources for the autism community — plus light refreshments will be served! Our own Drew Walker will be speaking alongside Dr. Wan-Chun Su and Dr. Eileen Haebig of LSU, and Miranda Georgetown Riley of the Magnolia Rose Foundation.
