Gifted and Great Scholars students in Mrs. Brommer's Gifted Biology, AP Biology, and Comparative Anatomy classes hit the ground running on their first day of classes at Woodlawn High. Students did brainstorming for what makes a good team/teammate. Each student picked a word that they felt described one of their strengths, such as resilience, consistency, communication, leadership, then put their teamwork skills to the test in an engineering and design challenge. Students were given uncooked spaghetti, tape, string, and a single mini marshmallow and had to build the tallest free standing structure with the marshmallow on top in 18 minutes.

Students then reflected on if they exhibited our chosen strength in the activity and talked about iterative problem solving and how we will be using these skills throughout the courses during this school year. .schools EBR Schools Woodlawn High School
