We love to see our leaders in action! Vice Chancellor Corlin LeBlanc and Assistant Vice Chancellors Mila Sexton and Rhett Poche each led sessions today at the LCTC Annual Conference. VC LeBlanc spoke about leading with a people first mindset, AVC Poche presented about BRCC's transformation of dual enrollment into a high-impact Early College Academy model and AVC Sexton led three sessions on advancement and philanthropy.

We were also proud to recognize St. James Place at the LCTC Foundation Impact Awards for their contribution to our college and our community. St. James Place received the Curt Eysink Excellence in Workforce Development Award!

BRCC student government President Aanya Mims attended the Council of Student Body Presidents meeting at Southern University and A&M College’s Valdry Center for Philanthropy. The meeting centered on leadership, dialogue, and collaboration.

We were pleased to welcome the NBRITI Cohort 13 to orientation held at BRCC’s Acadian Campus recently.

This year’s cohort includes students beginning training across Electrical, Instrumentation, Millwright, Pipefitting, Welding and Process Technology.

Orientation gave us an opportunity to welcome the new cohort, introduce students to program expectations and resources and prepare them for the training year ahead.

NBRITI is an important part of our workforce-development efforts and provides students with training designed to prepare them for opportunities within the industrial sector.

Our Nondestructive Testing (NDT) students recently visited the NASA Michoud Assembly Facility in New Orleans.

During the visit, they met with a representative from Boeing who provided the students with a tour of the facility and discussed the work Boeing performs at Michoud.

The students were able to learn about the rocket components produced at the facility and, more importantly, see how nondestructive testing is used to inspect critical components and support quality and safety within the aerospace industry.

BRCC NDT students received real-world exposure to the skills they are learning here.

Thank you to the Louisiana State Licensing Board for Contractors for donating nearly $136,000 to the BRCC Construction Management program!
