The 250 Club is all about showing up and staying committed! At the YMCA, members who scan in 250 times within one year earn a spot in our 250 Club, and our members have been putting in the work all year long!

Congratulations to our Top 20 Scanners for January through August!

Still working toward 250? There’s plenty of time to keep scanning, stay consistent and reach your goal before the year is over!

Meet Evelyn Smith! Evelyn has been a member of the YMCA for the past 2–3 years, and she makes coming to the Y a regular part of her life.

Evelyn first joined the Y because she wanted to live a healthier lifestyle and lose weight. Today, she comes to the Y as often as she can because she knows how much better she feels afterward. For Evelyn, staying active helps her stay energized, support her health, and sleep better.

One of Evelyn’s favorite things about the Y is the people. She says the staff are kind, helpful, friendly, and welcoming, and they keep her motivated to continue working toward her goals. She also enjoys the little things that make the Y feel like home—like having coffee served every day!

When asked what she would say to someone who is thinking about joining the Y, Evelyn’s answer is simple: “You should!” She says the welcoming staff, friendly members, and variety of equipment make the Y a great place to be. Most importantly, she says you can leave the Y feeling energized and refreshed.

For Evelyn, the Y is more than a place to exercise. It’s a place with friendly people, encouragement, and the resources to help you take care of yourself.

As Evelyn puts it, “The Y is just a good thing.”

Join us from September 10-19 for Welcoming Week activities at all of our YMCA of the Capital Area locations!

For 175 years, the Y has been a place where people come to find connection, community, and a sense of belonging, no matter where they come from.

That’s why we’re proud to celebrate Welcoming Week (September 10–19), honoring the strength and vibrancy all neighbors bring to our community. Come see for yourself why this is where everyone belongs.
