Liberty Magnet High School

Check it out! EBR Fine Arts’ Media Arts Teacher of the Month is our very own Mrs. Janesa Marcelle! 🎥✨

We’re so proud to see Mrs. Marcelle recognized for the creativity, energy, and passion she brings to her students every day. Check out the original post to learn more about what inspires her, what her students have to say, and the exciting things happening in Media Arts at Liberty! 💙❤️

Mrs. Janesa Marcelle from Liberty High is our Media Arts Teacher of the Month!

"What inspired me was less about a single moment of inspiration and more about natural alignment. I have a deep passion for the creative arts and a proven skill set in the discipline. When a board member reached out to invite me into the role, it was a natural step to share my expertise and passion with the next generation. My favorite part of teaching is watching students light up when they master a complex skill or see an initial concept fully come to life. Witnessing that spark of pride and creative confidence when a project clicks is incredibly rewarding. I want them to understand that ambition and financial opportunity have no age limit—you can start creating, earning, and building your future right now. Above all, I hope they realize that unlike many traditional fields, creativity is boundless. The problem-solving and innovation they learn here will serve them anywhere. Without media arts, the movies, news broadcasts, graphic visuals, and sound designs that shape our daily culture simply wouldn't exist. However, despite working in an educational setting, I have a humorous dynamic with tactile media: I absolutely dislike touching physical paper! It’s one reason I’m so naturally drawn to the digital realm. Our upcoming project is currently focused on a major upgrade to our student-led media coverage—transitioning our weekly broadcast into a daily show. Once that milestone is established, we’ll be pivoting into an intensive deep dive into Graphic Design."

A student quote:
"This is by far my favorite class this year! It’s extremely engaging, especially as we work on our projects where I can work creatively, freely, and be encouraged to incorporate my personality in everything we create. Mrs. Marcelle has a funny, yet very uplifting personality, making the class as a whole something to anticipate walking into and contributing to everyday."

🎉 Congratulations to our September Teacher of the Month, Ms. Alyson Demouy!

Ms. Demouy is new to Liberty this year and has already made a wonderful impact on our school community. In her Civics classrooms, she fosters a strong culture of collaboration, discussion, and active learning, creating opportunities for students to work together, think critically, and engage meaningfully with the content.

She consistently plans creative and engaging activities that bring Civics to life and encourage students to take an active role in their learning. We are so excited to have Ms. Demouy as part of the Liberty Magnet family and proud to recognize her for the enthusiasm and dedication she brings to her students each day.

Creating Opportunities. Inspiring Futures.

A huge shoutout to our amazing Liberty Magnet counselors for putting together an outstanding College and Career Fair!

Our students had the opportunity to connect with representatives from multiple universities, explore a variety of career pathways, ask questions, and begin thinking about the possibilities that await them after high school.

Providing our students with meaningful opportunities to explore their futures directly reflects one of our most important Core Values: OPPORTUNITY. We believe in opening doors, expanding horizons, and empowering every Patriot to dream BIG and pursue their goals!

Thank you to all of the universities, organizations, and career professionals who invested their time in our students and to our counselors for making this incredible experience possible!

The future is bright at Liberty Magnet!

Our ICare Executive Board had an incredible time at the annual ICare Leadership Conference on Wednesday, September 30, at the Pennington Biomedical Research Center!

This district-wide conference brought together ICare leaders from high schools across the district for a day filled with connection, inspiration, learning, and community! Students had the opportunity to mingle with other ICare groups, discover the amazing community organizations that support ICare initiatives, and hear from inspiring community leaders about why the work we do truly matters. 💙

Our Executive Board came back FIRED UP 🔥, INSPIRED 💡, and READY TO LEAD! They are excited to bring what they learned back to Liberty Magnet High School and make this year one to remember!

🎉 Congratulations to our six Liberty Magnet Teacher of the Year finalists: Dr. Birdsong, Ms. Davis-Hellmers, Mr. Dunlap, Mr. Lachney, Ms. Magee, and Mr. Mitchell!

These exceptional educators represent the very best of Liberty Magnet, demonstrating a commitment to excellence and a dedication to our students that extends far beyond the classroom. Through their teaching, leadership, mentorship, and service to our school community, they make a lasting impact on our Patriots every day!

We are so proud to celebrate Mrs. Muse as the Shining Star of the Week!

Mrs. Muse is one of the many people who help make Liberty Magnet a place where students feel supported, valued, and connected.

Whether she is coordinating Magnet activities, helping students during lunch, or taking a moment to listen and check in, Mrs. Muse brings kindness and dedication to everything she does. Her willingness to be there for students, both in big ways and small, reflects the heart of the Liberty Magnet community.

We are grateful for the positive impact Mrs. Muse makes each day and for the care she shows our students and school family.
