Osteoarthritis (OA) can affect both dogs and cats, and the signs aren’t always obvious. Keep an eye out for:

🐶 Signs of OA in dogs:
-Stiffness, especially after resting
-Difficulty getting up, sitting, or lying down
-Reluctance to climb stairs, jump, or play
-Limping or changes in the way they walk
-Less interest in walks or activities they once enjoyed
-Irritability or sensitivity when touched

🐱 Signs of OA in cats:
-Less jumping onto furniture or favorite spots
-Difficulty getting up or down stairs
-Sleeping more or being less active
-Trouble grooming, especially around the back or hind end
-Changes in litter box habits
-Hiding more or becoming less social
-Stiffness or difficulty getting comfortable
Pets are experts at hiding pain, so subtle changes in behavior can be important clues. If you’ve noticed your pet slowing down, talk with our veterinary team about whether arthritis could be affecting their comfort and mobility.
