Today is the first official day of fall, but that means nothing if you live in Louisiana 🤣

Another severe thunderstorm warning now in place for parts of Iberville and Assumption parishes until 6:30 pm. Decent wind signature over Pierre Part right now.

NEW: Severe Thunderstorm Warning until 5:45pm for West Baton Rouge and Iberville parishes. This storm is capable of producing 60 mph winds and hail.

Pockets of heavy rain have developed around the Baton Rouge metro this afternoon. Heads up for the evening drive - likely will be stormy at times!

🌀 TROPICAL STORM FAY: You may have missed it over the weekend, but Tropical Storm Fay formed in the northeastern Atlantic and has quickly strengthened. Fay now has winds of 65 mph and could become the first hurricane of the 2026 Atlantic season tonight.

If it does, it would bring an end to our record-long wait for the season’s first hurricane. The good news? Fay is far out in the Atlantic with no threat to land. Just the fish!

LOWS IN THE 60s - It will be a "cooler" start Friday morning with many dropping into the upper 60s for the first time since early June. Not quite fall weather yet, but I'll take it!

🍂 When will it finally start feeling like fall?

Over the last five years, Baton Rouge has recorded its first fall high of 75° or cooler between October 15 and October 25.

So while fall begins next Tuesday… history says we probably still have about another month to go before it truly starts to feel like it 😅
