LLA Data Analytics Manager Chris Magee was one of the panelists for a discussion on "Accountability in Action: Impactful Performance Audits" at the recent National Conference of State Legislatures Legislative Summit in Chicago. Approximately 7,800 state lawmakers, legislative staff, and participants attended the conference.

An evaluation of Louisiana's commercial vehicle size and weight enforcement programs found DOTD and LSP aren't effectively enforcing the regulations. As a result, trucks that are potentially overweight but that lack the required permits are driving on state highways and bridges and illegally bypassing weigh stations. https://LLA.La.gov/go/DWQM3J?Open

Gabrielle Moreau has joined LLA’s Recovery Assistance Services. She has a bachelor’s degree in accounting from Louisiana State University.

Faith Fuller has joined LLA’s Financial Audit Services. She has a bachelor’s degree in accounting from Louisiana State University. Previously, she worked in the private sector.

Ella Elkins has joined LLA’s Performance Audit Services as an intern. She is working on a master’s degree in public administration from Louisiana State University and expects to graduate in May 2027. She has a bachelor’s degree in political science, also from LSU.

Timithia Hall has joined LLA’s Performance Audit Services. She has a master’s degree in kinesiology and a bachelor’s degree in psychology, both from Southeastern Louisiana University. Before joining the LLA, she worked in the private and governmental sectors for 10 years.

Catherine Johnson has joined LLA’s Child Ombudsman Services. Prior to joining the LLA, she worked for nearly 25 years in the law enforcement and sexual assault response training and investigative fields. She has a bachelor’s degree in criminal justice from Park University.

An investigative audit found the St. Helena Parish Police Jury improperly used public funds for Christmas parties in 2024 and 2025. The police jury also exceeded its total travel budget by a combined 155% for fiscal years 2024 and 2025. https://LLA.La.gov/go/DWLJSR?Open
