🥣💕 Grits with Grandparents! 💕🥣

Last Friday was one of those mornings that filled our hearts (and our tummies!) with so much joy! We had the BEST time celebrating our amazing KC grandparents and special guests with a morning full of warm grits, sweet smiles, big hugs, and lots of love! 👵🏼👴🏼💗

We know that not every grandparent is able to make it to school, so we were extra thankful for the special guests who came to stand in and make the morning just as memorable for their favorite little KC kiddos. 🥰

We are so grateful for each and every one who came to celebrate with us. Thank you for filling our school with so much love, laughter, and a whole lot of GRITS & GRANDPARENT LOVE! 🥣🥰👵🏼👴🏼✨

👮‍♂️💙 KC LOVES Our Community Helpers! 💙👮‍♂️

Throughout the month of September, we’re excited to have parents and grandparents of our kiddos who are community helpers visit as special guests. Each guest gets to give our students a little glimpse into what they do and how they help serve our community.

Last week, we kicked off our first visit with Mr. Howard, Kylie’s dad, who is a police officer with the East Baton Rouge Parish Police Department! 🚔 He brought along a few of his fellow officers to talk with our kiddos about their jobs, staying safe, and what it’s like to be a police officer.

And, of course, the highlight was getting to explore the police car and try out the sirens! 🚨 The kids had so much fun learning, asking questions, and getting an up-close look at the work our officers do.

A huge THANK YOU to Mr. Howard and his EBRPD friends for taking the time to spend the afternoonwith us and making learning such a fun experience! We are so thankful for the amazing community helpers who pour into our kiddos! 💙👮‍♂️🚔

What a busy and exciting day at Kids Count! 🦁🦒🐘

Not only did our little adventurers have an amazing time on their Safari Adventure, but we also got to celebrate one of our very own! 💚 We surprised Ms. Kay with a safari-themed baby shower before she begins her maternity leave.

A huge thank you to everyone who helped make her day so special with your thoughtful cards, generous gifts, and well wishes. Your kindness means so much, and we know our little wild one is already so loved!

We’re so excited for Ms. Kay as she begins this new adventure in motherhood, and while we’ll miss her, we can’t wait to meet the newest little member of the Kids Count family! 💛👶🦓
