Joseph Catholic Cemetery bears quiet witness to the faith of those who have gone before us. Bounded on the north by North Street, on the east by 17th Street, on the south by Main Street, and on the west by 15th Street, St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery is one of the oldest cemeteries in the city of Baton Rouge, Louisiana. Joseph Catholic Cemetery is now severely limited, principally to those whose relatives are buried here.

Many thanks to the General Philemon Thomas Chapter of the Sons of the American Revolution for the installation of the marker honoring Jose Vasquez Vahamonde. The ceremony was truly inspiring and helped highlight the historic nature of the cemetery and of those resting there.
