Confirmation 2026 Parent & Confirmand Meeting
Sunday, August 16 | 5:00pm in the Casual Worship Center
Calling all current 6th graders and any 7th–12th graders who have not yet completed Confirmation!
Students and parents are invited to join us for our first Confirmation 2026 meeting on Sunday, August 16, at 5:00 PM in the Casual Worship Center. Come learn more about what’s planned for this year as we begin this exciting journey of faith, fellowship, and growing closer to God together.
Confirmation 2026 will be led by Pattie Riché and Lois Stuckey.

A Prayer for the New School Year

As a new school year begins, we lift up everyone starting a new season.

We pray for our students, that they would grow in wisdom, confidence, and kindness.

We pray for our teachers, faculty, administrators, and school staff—that God would give them strength, patience, and joy as they invest in the lives of others.

We pray for parents and guardians as they navigate new schedules, changing routines, and the many joys and challenges of another school year.

We pray for siblings, grandparents, caregivers, and every family member adjusting to new rhythms.

We especially pray for those facing something new, a new school, new classroom, new teacher, new friends, new job, new college, or a new adventure. May they find peace in knowing that God goes before them every step of the way.

Join us at Broadmoor United Methodist Church as we celebrate the start of a new school year with our annual Blessing of the Backpacks this Sunday!

During worship, we will take a special moment to pray over our students, teachers, administrators, and school faculty as they begin a new year of learning, growth, and new opportunities. Students are invited to bring their backpacks to worship as we bless them and pray for God's guidance and protection throughout the school year.

Before or after worship, stop by the Connection Café from 9:30 AM–12:00 PM for a special Back-to-School Photo Booth! Capture the moment, celebrate the new school year, and create a fun memory with your Broadmoor family.

From the very beginning, Whole Heart Health has been about collaboration. We are not here to reinvent what is already working. We are here to fill gaps, build bridges, and support the good that is already happening in our community.

That is why we are so excited to partner with Red Stick Together to help stock two of their community pantries. These beautiful pantries, created from newspaper receptacles, are located at Broadmoor United Methodist Church near the adult education building, at the corner of Sharp Road and Goodwood.

Today, we had the joy of stocking both the pantries and their Free Little Libraries. Moving forward, these two pantries will be part of our regular rotation as we continue learning what best serves this community. Whether that looks like fully shelf-stable meal bags, snacks, or ready-to-eat items, we will listen and adapt.

Red Stick Together also provides a weekly community meal, showing up in such a meaningful way for the people around them. We are honored to come alongside them in this work.

New Sermon Series Begins: This Sunday, August 9

Join us for “You’ve Got a Friend in Me: The Gospel in Toy Story” as we explore the powerful lessons of friendship, faith, belonging, and God’s love found throughout the story and themes of Toy Story.

This Sunday also includes our Blessing of the Backpacks, where we’ll pray over our students, teachers, and school faculty as they begin a new school year.
