LINE 4 LINE is a community-based literacy program that provides free haircuts to boys age 2-13 in exchange for reading books.
Line 4 Line is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that works through Barbershops to support literacy, close the achievement gap and provide positive learning opportunities for urban youth through mentor led out-of-school reading and creative programs.

This Monday join the barbers of Oneils Barber$Beauty salon /. org along with guest for line4line’s signature program, free haircuts for reading: boys ages 3-16; we welcome all past participants to come by and celebrate our 11th year! 4-7 free haircuts for reading along w food, activities, free books and more 449 N. Acadian.

It’s that time of year….. Free Haircuts for Reading return Monday September 14, 4-7pm. Join Oneils Barber$Beauty salon /. org and Line 4 Line team for a fresh cut, free books, and lots of fun supported learning. You can even sign up to be a volunteer!! Our tiny team relies on community help, we welcome you to get involved in our meaningful work.
Today we kicked off the 26-27 school year supplying our partners [email protected] with their weekly creative literacy kits, complete with books, lesson plan and materials for their volunteers to lead 20 young people every Wednesday East Baton Rouge Library Carver Library as part of Front Yard Bikes afterschool program . This week’s lesson explored building and architecture, we think the mini city maquettes look great and it sounds like the kids had a ton of fun creating.

I love school.
But this year, I hate the first day.
Not because I don’t want to learn… but because I have 2 older brothers and a sister, my mom couldn’t afford to buy me new school clothes this year. I hate wearing my older brother’s old clothes!
Will the other kids tease me? Will this be the worst day of my life?
