Louisiana Key Academy
Children with dyslexia often struggle to learn to read and are terrible spellers.
At Louisiana Key Academy, our specially trained team of educators is redefining what it means to learn through the lens of dyslexia, creating an inspiring and results-oriented educational environment designed to help your child thrive. It runs in families and the children can have speech delay as young children. They are bright children but need special instruction by trained teachers.

A diagnosis is an answer, not a destination.
Knowing your child has dyslexia can finally explain years of frustration.
But what happens after the diagnosis matters just as much. If your child has an IEP, accommodations, or reading support but continues to struggle, it may be time to ask:
Are they making the progress they need? ๐
LKA is a school built specifically for dyslexic thinkers, using evidence-based instruction designed around the way they learn. And weโve seen students make tremendous strides in just their first nine weeks at LKA.
Because when the right instruction meets the right learning environment, progress can speak for itself! ๐ง ๐

Expertise doesn't happen by accident. ๐
Louisiana Key Academy works alongside the Dyslexia Resource Center to strengthen the resources, training, and expertise available to dyslexic students and the people who support them.
Together, we're helping advance a shared goal: ensuring dyslexic thinkers have access to evidence-based support that helps them grow.

What if dyslexia wasn't the exception in your child's classroom?
At LKA, our students are surrounded by classmates who understand how they learn, teachers who know how to support them, and a community that feels like family!
That sense of belonging matters. Because when students feel understood for who they are, they have more room to build confidence and make real progress. ๐๐ช

- Specially trained educators
- Daily practice.
And an entire learning environment designed with dyslexic thinkers in mind. Take a look inside an LKA classroom and see specialized instruction in action!

STATE WINNERS! ๐๐ค
Weโre incredibly proud to celebrate the LKA Caddo WordWizards, named State Winners of the Presidential AI Challenge 2026, Middle School Track II! ๐
Student innovators Arโeanna Caldwell, Alexander Harris, Keely Rhinhart-Tripp, and Lillyann Fletcher designed and presented WordWizard: Dyslexia-Friendly Reading Support, an AI-powered tool created to make reading and learning more accessible for students.
Their project helps students break down complex text, turn directions into step-by-step checklists, understand vocabulary in a student-friendly way, and practice with grade-level questions. ๐ก
Our students were recognized with award certificates signed by the President and First Lady of the United Statesโa huge accomplishment for these four innovators and the entire LKA Caddo community! ๐๐
We couldnโt be prouder to see our dyslexic thinkers using creativity, technology, and problem-solving to build solutions that can help students just like them.
Congratulations, WordWizards! ๐

90 minutes. Every school day. ๐
At LKA, dyslexic thinkers receive 90 minutes of specialized reading instruction each day.
Why? Because students with dyslexia need more than occasional supportโthey benefit from explicit, structured instruction designed around how they learn.
Those 90 minutes add up to something much bigger: progress. ๐
