Date, type of act, document, ID used, signer details, and sometimes a thumbprint. That record is what protects everyone if a signature is questioned six months later. ✅
If a signing ever gets disputed, the journal is the story of what actually happened at the table.

If a signer is confused, pressured, or clearly not tracking the document, a good notary pauses. That’s protection for the signer, the agent, and the title company. “Just get it signed” is not a standard. 🛑

💻 E-sign and wet-ink are not interchangeable just because it’s “the same form.”
Some lenders still need wet ink. Some recorders still want original stamps. A remote online notarization is a different process. If the file says wet ink, a screenshot of a DocuSign is not the same document. 🖊️
