Join us on Saturday, August 1, from 11:00 AM to 3:00 PM for Passport Day at the Library. We'll be accepting new passport applications all day with no appointment required.

📸 Make it a one-stop visit! We also offer on-site passport photos, and multiple passport acceptance agents will be available to help keep things moving. Families are welcome.

Before you come:
✅ Walk-ins only (first come, first served)

✅ Complete your passport application before arriving

✅ Staff will be available to answer quick questions if you need assistance

Thank you to everyone who came out to the Hop on the Bus exhibit at the library featuring the new children’s book that takes you on a ride through Beacon history on the Beacon Free Loop! The show will be up through the end of August and books and prints are available to purchase. Congratulations to the creators Diane Lapis, Diane Murphy, illustrator Ed Miller, and the Beacon Historical Society!

Today is the day! Join us on Saturday, July 25, from 2:00-4:00 PM for the Hop on the Bus! Let's Explore Beacon Gallery Exhibit Celebration at Howland Public Library. Stroll through the gallery and experience the pages of this beautifully illustrated book, inspired by the Beacon Free Loop, as you journey through Beacon's history one stop at a time. Meet authors Diane Lapis and Diane Murphy and illustrator Ed Miller, enjoy sweet treats and hands-on activities for young visitors, and celebrate the Beacon Historical Society's 50th anniversary. Copies of Hop on the Bus! Let's Explore Beacon will be available for purchase, making it a wonderful keepsake of Beacon and its rich history. We hope to see you there!
